Thriller

It was a dark cold night. The branches of the tree scratched against the window as the wind beat against them. The glow of the full moon sent haunting shadows on the leaf covered trail leading to the abandoned house. As "Kim" made her way thru the wooded area, she wrapped her U of U snuggie thightly around her shoulders. Was that something ahead of her of the trail, she wondered, or just a shadow amoung the trees? She closed her eyes and pressed forward not knowing what was ahead of her. In the distance she could see the house. A small candle flickered in the upstairs window. As she approached....the front door slowly opened and there among the red flames stood a dark image. Is that "Amber"? She thought. If not Amber....then who was it? Who was there to greet her....or were they there to EAT her? Heck....it was just Kaitlyn...being Kaitlyn! "How scarey is that?" you ask. But...do you really know the "other side" of Kaitlyn? These very scarey Titan Cheerleaders performed at the annual Halloween assembly. They danced to Thriller...along with the Dance Line. Below are just some of the pictures of their awesome outfits, make-up, and check out that hair!

How could this cute little thing be so scarey - great tranformation!

Kiersten Hunter gets a YES on stage from her date for Saides - no...that little guy on stage is not her date....it must be his big brother...so cute. Group Shot

Even Mrs. McCord aka Amber got into the action. She was selected to participate in musical chairs on stage. She just needs to be more aggressive with those students!!!!!

Do YOU have your FULL?

She's got her FULL. I can't do a FULL. Have you got your FULL? I'm FULL. Are you FULL? She's FULL of it! Is the cup half empty or half FULL? The car is FULL of gas. My plate is FULL. I have a FULL schedule. The garden is in FULL bloom. I have a FULL figure. The dog is FULL grown. She had a date with the FULLback. She works FULL time. Be sure to make a FULL account. That english paper is FULL of errors. She is FULL of herself! My prom dress has a FULL skirt. FULL moon (not to be confused with New Moon) FULL blown. FULL blood. FULL Nelson. FULL fledged. FULL gainer. FULL length. FULL Monty. FULLer brush man! So this is my question....What is a FULL?

A FULL is an advanced tumbling routine which involves several tumbling aspects. First you do a Round Off. A roundoff is very similar to a cartwheel. The only difference is that you land on both feet at the same time. Also, your legs should be extended together before you land. This helps to gain momentum for the rest of the routine. Second is a Back Handspring - spring backwards, land on both hands, continue to flip, and land on your feet. Third is a Layout- Keep the body straight while flipping back. Spring back with arms extended above the head. Once the head is back and the body is upside-down and vertical, swing the arms down to the body to create the momentum to bring the entire body over. The idea of a layout is to have no bending at the hips or knees. Fourth is a Full Twist - Once the head is back, look to one side, turn the body 360 degrees in mid-air, and land facing the same direction that you started. This is the most challenging of the flips listed, and takes an enormous amount of height to accomplish.

Well...now I have a FULL blown headache. I'm going to get my FULL bottle of ibuprofin and take two with a FULL glass of water. Then I'm going to sit in a FULL tub of hot water and read a FULL issue of People Magazine. I'm going to say my prayers and be very thankFULL that I'm not a cheerleader and that the only tumbling I have to worry about are the clothes in my dryer!

Melissa...

Ah shucks! Cheering can be such a lonely place....especially when you're not feeling well. Melissa has been a little "under the weather" but she is feeling better. We love ya Melissa...it's just not the same without you!

Guess Who

Can you guess who this dedicated cheerleader is? That is a blister on the back of her heel - ouch! I think she used these shoes to mow her lawn...it's kind of a Titan green ?????
She likes her hair up
Her name starts with a "K"

I Believe I Can Fly

After attending a recent cheer practice, I came to the realization that yes.....these girls can fly! They fly frontwards and backwards and high and low and they do it with such grace and strength at the same time. I was very impressed with their stamina, concentration, and energy. I also noticed how much they support each other in each task performed - that's called Team Work. "Tumbling" has a whole new meaning to me....I'm sticking with my somersaults!!!

Make sure you get the Wort Righting

What did that say? I think it's supposed to say "Make sure you get the "Right Wording". Let me explain.....have you ever seen the names of all the girls on the cheer squad? It's a bit confusing. See if you can get them all straight.....

There's Kirsten, Kiersten, Karley, Kaylee, Keylee, Kaitlyn, Kaydee, Codie, Shaylynn, Shianne, Chelsey, Celesta, Megan, Martha, Melissa, Taylor, Taelor, Brittany, Brittney, Bailey, Brooke, and.....Skylee, Ashlee, and Whitney! Whew - try to say that 3 times in a row!

So is Keylee blonde or is that Kaylee? I think Kirsten is brunette...both of them. Is Kaydee the senior or is that Codie? Shaylynn is a flyer, or is that Shianne? Which Taylor is Taelor? Did Brittney hurt her knee or was that Brittany? Did Brook break her wrist or was that Bailey? Did Bailey break her nose or was that Brooke? Is Carrie Karley's mom? I think Mary and Martha go together. Is Whitney's last name Wallace? Are Herfel and Huffaker related? I wonder if they know Hammon, Hunter, and Hansen. Taylor's last name is Turner...right? Chelsey's last name is Jernigan isn't it - or is it Johnson? Who is the Lionelli girl? Are Megan and Melissa sister's or is that Brooke and Codie? Is Crockett related to Davey? Are Gardner and Glauser seniors or juniors? Does Celesta have red hair or is that Karley?

Well....I'm confused - but I should have it figured out by May....just in time for graduation!

Incredible Girls

Is this Cheer Squad lookin good or what? As I stand on the side lines and take these pictures I am gaining a stronger respect for the squad. What they do...ain't easy! Every stunt is carefully thought out and performed. These girls work hard. They have to concentrate continually and safety is essential. Next time you watch a stunt, keep your eyes on the spotters (the girls down below) Watch them concentrate. They never take their eyes off the flyer and man do they have muscles in those upper arms!!!!! You girls are incredible! Who is this Pookki guy? He has more team spirit than the entire student body combined! He must go home after the games exhausted - and we love him for it! Thanks for helping to get the crowd on their feet and energized - We love ya!
For those of you who don't know, our cute Brooke Stanley broke her nose during a stunt a few weeks ago. She had surgery and is now recovering. The Davis football game was her first time back on the track with the squad. Glad you're back Brooke.

Just a few random shots of great girls with great smiles and great moms!

Kaitlyn and Ashlee both answered their dates for the Homecoming dance during the Davis game.
Kaitlyn and the cheerleaders spelled YES with their pom pom's and Ashlee had a huge sign which was rolled out across the track. Whatever these girls do....they do it BIG. Loved it girls.

Another game...another victory for the Titans. This was our first away game-the team and the cheerleaders did an awesome job. KSL TV was there to record some of the highlights of the game as well as the energetic cheerleaders...where do they get all that energy?

Northridge Football Game 8-28-09

Another Titan Victory - this time against Northridge. Theres Amber in the middle taking the lead and helping to keep our squad "lookin good" and in line!
Thanks for all your hard work Amber.

Bailey - love the new BLUE cast :) She has to leave that thing on for 10 WEEKS - but it doesn't stop her from being an awesome cheerleader - just don't hit the cheerleaders on your right in the head...we don't want anymore injuries - ha.

Do you really know Kaitlyn?

Wow - Look at her fly...

Whoever said Cheerleadering is all easy and fun never saw a stunt like the one in this picture!
Next time you are at a game watch how hard the cheerleaders work. Every stunt is practiced several times and many things happen to make it perfect and safe. Practice-Practice-Practice is the main thing. They are always making sure technique is exact and safety is priority. When you see this Flyer in the air....you see how easy injuries can occur if proceedure is not followed. Wow - way to go girls - you rock!

Hello Assembly

It's official.....school has begun! The "Hello Assembly" was on August 28th and it went very well. The girls did a great job and had lots of fun despite a few nervous moments. While practicing backstage, before the assembly, one of the routines fell. Whitney was at the bottom of the pile and slightly injured her neck. A few tears and a little bit of ice helped relieve the pain. Then the cheerleaders did what they do best....they put on a happy face, took a deep breath, and went out to perform. Good job girls - you are awesome!

You've always gotta have a little bit of fun...great shot girls :)
