Copper Hills Football Game

Copperhills Football Game - August 21
The first game of the season also brought the Titans their first win. The cheerleaders were there to rally on support, but not without a few minor injuries and one BIG INJURY! During a tumbling routine, Bailey landed wrong and broke her right wrist. The doctor said it would be 8 weeks of healing time - ugh! Despite the pain and a few tears...she still managed to give us that great smile. Bailey we are sorry for your injury and hope you heal soon.

New Era Sept. 2009

Check out the Sept. 2009 issue of The New Era page 16-20 and the back cover. There are some great pictures and a wonderful story about one of our own, Miss Brittany Crockett. When Brittany was only one year old, she was dignosed with muscular dystrophy, a disease that slowly weakens the muscles until they don't work correctly. Doctors told her parents she wouldn't live another year. Fourteen years later, doctors again told her the same thing. But Brittany does try to beat the odds in just about everything.
When two 2008-2009 high school Titan cheerleaders (Elleny Swanson & Kaitlyn Glauser) made a move to help someone else, they had no idea how much it would help them as well. Brittany first became excited about cheerleading in junior high. It looked to her like something she could handle. As high school started, she didn't forget that feeling. "She constantly mentioned it. Over and over agian I would hear, 'I wish I could do that'" her mom says. "And then, one day she said, 'I want to do it.'" And with that conviction, her parents started asking around to see what that would take. At first the school district said no, over concern for Brittany's health and safety, but then a surprise phone call let her know she wouldn't have to wait. That's when Kaitlyn and Elleny stepped in and did what a cheerleader does best....rally support. When they broke the news to Brittany she said, "I just wasn't ready for it". Elleny and Kaitlyn just wanted to make her dream come true. The cheerleaders started calling her their lucky charm. The team won every game Brittany cheered for and lost every game she couldn't attend. Brittany...we are so happy to have you on the squad again this year...you will always be our lucky charm!

Hazen...Here We Come

August 10, 2009 - Lights...Camera...Aciton! This has to be one of the funnest events on the cheerleader calendar...pictures at Hazen. The girls arrive and go directly to the back room for hair and make-up. They switch into the wardrobe of their choice, then they each get their chance in front of the camera. Dara was there with that great smile and helping hand - thanks Dara you're awesome!
